Somewhere in the Great Smoky Mountains |
December started out with a surprise birthday trip
to Tennessee and North Carolina.
The trip was my birthday gift from my daughters and
my youngest daughter was my companion for the trip.
The weather was warm (60's), rainy and foggy the whole week.
I won Santa Nancy's 3rd Day of Christmas drawing
on my birthday, December 3.
How cool is that!!
Bride's Tree Ornaments
Designs by
Brooke's Books Publishing
Stitched on Wichelt's 28 count Cafe Mocha Linen
with Crescent Colors Belle Soie Silk and Cotton flosses
My happy client has given me permission to show these ornaments. I'm pleased with how well they turned out and the Rambling Rose fabric for the backing and the box lining matches perfectly.
I stitched each ornament's meaning and pieced it with the backing fabric for the backside of the ornament. This whole project took me almost two years to stitch and finish.

I received this wonderful ornament from Shirlee.
I love the beaded hanger she put on this ornament.
Thank you so much Shirlee!
I'm sure I've forgotten something in this post,
but I'll just have to include it in a post after Christmas.
Keeping all those affected by storms around the world in
my thoughts and prayers.
I hope you are enjoying the season!
Lovely post , beautiful ornaments and exchanges , Happy Christmas.

ReplyDeleteI LOVE the way the Bride's Tree Ornaments turned out, so beautiful!
These are on my list for 2015, stitching 1 per month.
I only hope I can finish them as pretty as yours.
Love the way you stitched the meaning on the back, what a great idea.
Thanks for showing them, and I've bookmarked your blog for reference.

My oldest daughter and her family went hiking and camping all through the Smoky Mountains and also Shenandoah this past summer. They enjoyed it a lot and hope to go back soon! Loved seeing all your stitching--beautifully finished Bride's set! And the exchanges are great! Congrats on winning all that floss from Nancy!
ReplyDeleteI am new to your blog and think your ornaments are so cute. I, too, have CCN Angels We Have Heard On High. Once I purchased it, I lost interest. Your ornament caught my eye with the beaded finish and coloring, so I think I'll stitch it up. What color did you use for the DMC color variations? All of your pieces are really nice.
ReplyDeleteWhat a wonderful birthday gift - a memorable trip! Oh the thread colors - I think color is a drug for my brain - I can just look and look and look. Your bride series ornaments are just stunning! An instant heirloom.
