NO STITCHING TO SHOW...
not because I haven't been stitching, but because what I'm working on just can't be shown yet.

So, instead of stitching, I'll show you some backyard critters.

Not sure what these little birds are, but we have lots of them.

Can you spot the female Cardinal?  She's hard to spot in the tree.
(Look just to the right of the middle of the photo)

Mr. Redbird likes to find seeds on the ground.

Mrs. Redbird also likes to gather seeds from the ground.

Mr. Redbird sat just long enough for me to capture his portrait.

My backyard birds like to hide.  Can you find the Blue Jay?
(look just to the left of the bell)

And yet a different bird on the suet feeder.
I'm not sure if this is a woodpecker.

Mr. Redbird poses for another photo.

Taco, the squirrel, is always looking for seeds and corn.
(We don't know why my daughter named the squirrel Taco.)

And, finally, another unknown bird.
I've not seen too many of these.

I hope you can find time to stop and watch the beauty of nature each day!

Have a great week.

  1. Pam - You did great with your camera! 1st photo has sparrows - perhaps Chipping Sparrows. Your suet eater is a woodpecker for sure - smaller maybe a Downey Woodpecker - a female as there is no red marking on the back of the head. Last photo is a Dark-eyed Junco. They are happier as ground feeders so that's why he likes the food on the table! I do envy you your lovely Cardinals and you have a different Jay than I do (in Oregon).

  2. Love the pictures with your birds. The first picture I think are wrens, cardinals and it does look like a wood pecker.

  3. Oh Pam. It is so true about the beautiful nature and we really need to make ourselves stop and take notice. Things come and go so quickly so we should just think about our surroundings more often. Love all your pictures. Happy New Year.
