June

I’m barely making my goal of posting at least once a month, lol.  In all honesty, I’m having a hard time.  I’m struggling with a persistent migraine that I can’t break.  I’m sure stress isn’t helping, but the migraine is contributing to my stress and it’s a vicious circle.

My youngest DD seems to be doing ok on her deployment, but she wouldn’t tell me either way.  I understand that she’s busy doing what she’s trained for, but I wish we could communicate more often.

You may remember last year my oldest DD was having some medical issues and had to have several surgeries.  I’m sad to say the issues haven’t disappeared.  She may need additional surgery later this summer.  She’d been looking forward to a relaxing summer after graduating with her Master’s in May, but has started seeing a new specialist that is ordering many more tests.

MAILART

I participate in a Mailart Facebook group. This year there is a birthday exchange and I made a mailart for one of our group members who had a birthday in May. I mailed it “naked” as it was not in a protective wrap. I`m still amazed these envelopes make it through the mail.

I included a handmade birthday card, needles in a matchbook case and 4 skeins of floss.

Her postal carrier really liked delivering the mailart too.

Our Facebook group is also having a Quaker mailart exchange.  I received my Quaker mailart from Meari.  I love the design and work Meari put into this envelope for me.  The goodies she included will be so useful too.

The triplets are 3 months old now and doing great!  My niece has made the decision to be a stay-at-home mom and is adjusting to having her hands full.

That's all for now.

HAVE A SAFE AND HAPPY 4TH OF JULY!

  1. Hope all goes well for your daughter's health issue. Can't imagine what military families go through not being able to just pick up a phone. And dealing with a migraine on top of it all!

My post office would have destroyed that beautiful work. Glad the carrier appreciated it!

Your niece signed on to the most rewarding, stressful, overtime, overworked, IMPORTANT job she will ever have! Good for her!

  2. Pam, the triplets are just precious. I want to give each one of them a hug. I am sorry you are dealing with an ongoing migraine, Pam. The mailart piece you stitched and sent looks great; the one you received from Meari looks fabulous. Have a peaceful and relaxing 4th!

  3. Oh Pam. I really still think you should look into Topomax with your doctor. I am praying for all three of you ladies. What a wise choice your niece made! She will never, ever regret being home with her darling boys!!
    Your mailart is so cool!

  4. Life can get in the way of blogging for sure. I hope things improve for your daughter. Having a son in the Army for over 20 years I know how frustrating it can be to really not know how well they are doing. My son always said, " Remember Mom, loose lips sink ships." That made me be quiet! What adorable little boys and so happy she can stay home and care for them. Lovely stitching too!

  5. I am so sorry your are in constant pain and that your DD is still uncertain as to what's up with her medical situation. Your buzz envelope is just wonderful. And oh the triplets - are they a cute group or what?

  6. Oh, Pam--migraines sound so very painful. I'm lucky to never have had one... I hope yours is relieved soon and that your daughter can find some answers, too.

Those baby boys--oh, I just want to hug them! They are TOO CUTE FOR WORDS!

Love the mailart, too, and the postman's comment!

  7. Although I've never done a Mailart, I think it is so cool.
Can't believe they make it through the mail ok.
I hope your daughter finds help with her medical issues so, so frustrating.
The Triplets are so cute, they look healthy and happy!

  8. Oh, Pam... I'm so sorry you're having migraines. Hopefully, they're a bit better by now? I was just thinking about your oldest DD and wondering how she was doing. Let's hope her new specialist will get to the bottom of things and she gets better. Mailart is fun to make and send, isn't it?
