Male Rose-Breasted Grosbeak

I think this one looks like he is ready to have a conversation with me!

These are first time visitors to my backyard and I'm enjoying watching them.
I have counted 4 males and at least 2 females.

The Hardy Azalea is spectacular this year!

I love how vibrant the blooms are!

Hollie's new thing is smiling when she wants something!

Hollie stays with us during the week and we've been working on obedience.
Dottie "shows" Hollie how it's done so Dottie can get a treat too, lol.

We celebrated DD's birthday on Mother's Day.  I can't believe my youngest is 23 years old!
She's looking forward to graduation and commissioning with the Army in June.

Not much else going on.  It's only been 3 weeks since I got the cast,
but it sure seems like it's been much longer.

Have an awesome weekend!

  1. Glad you posted. Congrats to your DD. Lovely flowers and bird.

  2. We have the Grosbeaks here this week too in WI!
Not sure if they are just passing through or staying, but as long as we have seed out, they come.
We also have has an Indigo Bunting the last 2 days, so beautiful, like DMC 796! :)
Your Azalea is beautiful. The Hummingbirds should like that.
Congrats to your daughter on her B-Day and graduation.
    Have fun bird-watching!

  3. Oh my goodness, your azalea bush looks fabulous. Happy belated birthday wishes to your daughter! Your bird pictures are great. I really like the pictures of Hollie and Dottie. Enjoy your day!

  4. A happy birthday to your lovely daughter. Just wait till she turns 40, now that's when you feel real old!

  5. The azalea bush looks so pretty. The kiddos grow up so fast, don't they? I'm amazed at the close ups of the birds you get.

  6. Such handsome birds, Pam! I don't think I've ever seen them around here... Your daughter's future will be busy and exciting--best wishes to her for graduation and her Army venture!

  7. We experienced a plethora of Rose Breasted Grosbeaks in our area (S.E. VA) also, and I had one or two come to my feeders! I was excited! Congrats to your DD. Thanks for sharing!

  8. Love the bird pictures!! You have a beautiful DD!
