Too Much

I am pretty sure Mother Nature and Old Man Winter are mad at me.  As you've heard, much of the midwest has been having seriously cold temperatures, alot of snow and strong winds.  Well, I noticed that my neighbors didn't have as much drifted snow and piles in their yards compared to mine, so I drove around the neighborhood.  No other house anywhere in my neighborhood or town, for that matter, has the huge snow drifts and piles like I do.

These drifts and snow piles are over 4 feet deep.

This is where the snow is not as deep.  See those twigs sticking out of the snow?  That's a 3 foot tall bush.  I sure hope it can handle the weight of the snow.

All this shoveling has really aggravated my Thoracic Outlet Syndrome and I'm again suffering with severe pain and numbness in my neck, shoulders, arms and hands.

This is in my back yard.  That huge drift is at least 5 feet deep!
Dottie Dog doesn't know she can walk across this drift right over the fence and out of her backyard.

This is the first winter that Dottie has had snow deeper than she is tall.
We had to shovel a path for her and to get to the firewood.

We've had a few days of sunshine, but super cold temps.
This morning it was -22F with a windchill of -35.
The forecast is for warmer temps and more snow.

I WON A COUPLE GIVEAWAYS!

This comes from Barb over at Wicked Stitcher.  She finished stitching this and decided to offer the chart as a giveaway.  Thanks Barb!

I also just found out I won By The Bay Needleart's Winter Giveaway.

My youngest DD took this late last week.  I love that you can see the stars!

Whatever the weather is in your area, be safe!

  1. Oh you poor thing. I knew you were getting more than we were but wow! I do think it is cute that the dog can just walk out of the yard. Man, did you have the cold. I am so sorry you are in pain. It is hard to shovel but when you have to pile it higher than you, then you are right. Too much!

  3. The snow is at your place because all the neighbors are putting it there ;-) I'm empathize... My snow piles are at least 5 ft high. I've had to start 3 piles in the backyard. Celeste thinks it's great that she can climb the "mountains" and sit on top.

  5. Snow and cold go on and on up here too. With two toy poodles, we have no choice but to shovel out a "potty zone". That picture your DD took is really cool.
